With so many scams out there, it’s easy to fall for a trap. Luckily, that was not me. I personally knew people who had bad mystery shopping experience, but hopefully upon reading this, you’ll know what to look out for.
First and foremost: there is ZERO cost to becoming a mystery shopper! Under NO circumstances should you be asked to pay for membership in a mystery shopping company. The way mystery shopping works allows you to simply sign up with as little or as many companies as you want. Then, when you start receiving shop notifications, you can apply and accept whichever assignments you want. It’s that simple.
That being said, there are companies out there that provide easier access to shop assignment listings from multiple companies. Instead of having to log into a bunch of separate mystery shopping company websites, you can simply login in to one place to find all assignments available for multiple companies. Once of these membership websites is JobSlinger. The cost is moderate, but will save you the time and hassle of having to search through many sites to find jobs you want to apply for or accept. Ideally, it’d be great if all mystery shopping companies consolidated to form one large company, but then the competitive mystery shopping market wouldn’t be ideal anymore. It is almost to your advantage that some mystery shopping companies have a hard time finding shoppers due to lack of exposure.
Even though there is no cost to becoming a mystery shopper, your status will become complete once you become an MSPA certified shopper. Read on to find out how you can become one of the most sought after mystery shoppers in the business.
